Position Overview
CA Kaplan is seeking a reliable and skilled Construction & Facilities Technician to join our team. In this role, you will ensure our buildings and equipment remain safe, functional, and efficient. You will handle routine property upkeep, preventative maintenance (PM), and hands-on building repairs. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical troubleshooting skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with tenants.
Key Responsibilities

Routine Repairs: Fix broken locks, repair drywall (filling gaps/patching), paint, and handle general carpentry tasks.

Electrical & HVAC: Troubleshoot minor electrical issues, check control panels, replace light fixtures/bulbs, and service basic HVAC components.

Plumbing & Appliances: Install, maintain, and repair standard household and commercial appliances and plumbing fixtures.

Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of building systems and machinery to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.

Tenant Relations: Collaborate professionally with on-site workers and tenants during service calls to resolve work orders efficiently.
Qualificiations

Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in building, residential, or commercial facilities maintenance.

Technical Knowledge: Solid basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Tool Proficiency: High familiarity and safety compliance with standard hand and power tools.

Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and demonstrate excellent manual dexterity.
